Dodmoor House Wedding Photographer – Lucy and Aron

The Saturday before Easter I made the short hop down the M6 from Birmingham to the stunning Dodmoor House at Weedon in Northampton for Lucy and Aron’s wonderful wedding. They married on what was probably the hottest April day for many years, to steal a phrase from The Fast Show, it was scorchio. . . emergency suntan lotion was packed along with the cameras and lenses!

This was my first visit to Dodmoor House and hopefully not my last. The venue is absolutely stunning and all the staff were brilliant too, with the wedding co-ordinator Shona doing a great job to ensure the day ran smoothly. The venue is a grade II listed, family run business which consists of a series of interlinked converted barns. It makes a great backdrop for a wedding and there are some brilliant photo locations in and around the four acres of grounds in which the venue is set.

I met with Lucy and her bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding at the Dodford Room at the venue, which a a lovely space set aside for the bridal prep. Lucy wore a vintage inspired Catherine Deane wedding dress which was from Serendipity Brides in Weedon whilst her bridesmaids wore matching pink dresses which were from Debenhams. Hair was by Adorable Hairdressing Company in Rugby whilst the girls did their own makeup. Lucy also made all of the flowers herself from paper, they were incredibly realistic and even had a wasp confused! Aron and his best man Harry wore grey Ted Baker suits with pink accessories to match the bridesmaids.

The ceremony, which was held in the Courtyard Barn, was a wonderful affair chock full of emotion with plenty of tears and laughter. Once the formalities had been completed everyone then headed outside to make the most of the wonderful April weather before heading into the Catesby Barn for the wedding breakfast. The food was supplied by Lemon Zest who provided a stunning three course menu, although the bride and groom provided their own wedding cake in the form of a pair of giant Colin and Connie the Caterpillar cakes.

As the evening drew in everybody was back outside enjoying the last of the sun and partaking in garden games before joining together for a sparkler arch prior to the first dance. I always love a really lively dance floor and this wedding had it in spades, people got down, shapes were thrown and rug was cut. Here’s a few pictures from Lucy and Aron’s awsome day . . .
