Two weekends ago I had the immense pleasure of photographing Anna and Ben’s wonderful wedding. Anna and Ben have only just recently moved back to the UK after living and working in Australia for the last few years. Their wedding ceremony was held at Saint John The Baptist Church in Berkswell and the reception was at Shustoke Farm Barns near Coleshill. It was my second time at Shustoke Barns and it’s a venue that I really love. The interior space of the main barn is simply quite stunning, there’s great outdoor space for photos, plus the staff (and food!) are lovely too.
I met up with the Anna fairly early in the morning at The Granary at Dovehouse Farm and the bridal preparations were already well underway. Hair was by Claire Salter and makeup by Rebecca Frances. Anna’s beautiful lace dress was by Australian designer Johanna Johnson and the bridesmaids outfits from In One Clothing. The lovely little vintage car that took Anna to the church was actually Ben’s Dad’s very first car! They also hired a vintage bus from Central Buses to move their guests between venues.
The ceremony at Saint John The Baptist was a lively affair thanks to Reverend Mark Bratton who was incredibly entertaining and would probably give most best men a run for their money with his gags and one liners. After the ceremony it was onto the vintage bus for the short journey to Shustoke Barns. There the guests were treated to an amazing array of food including a stunning BBQed beef which was served by a nominated guest “chef” at each table. After the wedding breakfast the tables were cleared away to make room for The CoverUps who kept the dance floor shaking until the small hours.
I also need to say a massive thank you to Zoe Shannon who did a sterling job second shooting with me. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention about the weather. It was so wet that you might only have liked it if you were a duck . . .
