Album Design Process

The first step in the album design process is to decide how you want the initial image selection to be performed. This can be done in one of two ways; either you can make the initial image selection yourself or I can do this for you.

If you want to make the initial selection yourself the best way to let me know what images you want to include is to log into your online wedding gallery and mark the images as favourites. Then just let drop me an email to let me when you’ve finished selecting your images.

The base album contains 24 pages / 12 spreads. A spread is classified as pair of facing pages i.e. the left- and right-hand pages in a book. The image below shows a spread . . .

As a guide allocate 4 images per spread for the layout. With 12 spreads in the base album this therefore equates to 48 images to select.

Further spreads can be added to the album with each spread allowing a further 4 images. The cost of each additional spread is £5. The maximum number of spreads is 44. If you require more than 44 spreads then the paper thickness can be switched from the 800g standard thickness to a thinner 400g paper which allows up to 60 spreads to be used.

From the initial selection a first album layout is then generated. Once this is completed a proof of the layout will be sent to you for approval. At this stage the design isn’t fixed so you can make further layout changes such as rearranging the photos, adding, removing or replacing images. We can repeat this process until you are satisfied with the layout.

Once the internals of the book are completed we then need to finalise the outside of the album. By default the album cover is Italian Tuscany leather. For those that prefer not to have leather there is also an option for a vegetarian / vegan friendly microfiber cover. The price of the album also includes 1 row of embossed cover stamping for up to 20 characters. You can put any text in this space but the recommendation is that you use this for your names. If you wish to add a second row of text, for a further 20 characters, then there is an additional cost of £20 for this. This second row can be used for the date, the venue or some other details about the day.

The album will be delivered with a velvet bag to help you store your book. There is an option for a wooden presentation box which can be customised with your names, the cost of the box is an additional £55.

Once the design has been finalised and approved by yourselves it will then be sent to the book manufacturer for printing and binding. The final book should then be with you within 4 weeks. Please note that for orders around the festive period final approval must be completed by November 15th for your order to arrive in time for Christmas.

If you wish to order extra albums, such as for presents for parents, then these can also be purchased. Each additional album costs 75% of the first album.
