Two weekends ago I made the short hop across town to Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter to photograph Elly and Pete’s wonderful wedding. After photographing Elly’s Sophia Tolli dress at her hotel I headed for The Rectory Bar in St Paul’s Square to meet up with Pete and his groomsmen.
Following Pete’s last drink as a single man we made our way over to St Paul’s Church where the rest of the wedding party were treated to some pre-ceremony tea (and Southern Comfort!) before the arrival of Elly and her bridal party. It was a lovely ceremony and St Paul’s is a great venue which gives lots of opportunity for pictures from the balcony.
After the ceremony we made our way to The Drop Forge for the wedding reception. There the guests were entertained with Pete’s Big Wedding Quiz before tucking into an amazing wedding breakfast prepared by The Drop Forge‘s own chefs. Elly and Pete actually met whilst working in Greggs so it seemed fitting that their wedding cake was a Gregg’s Belgian Bun . . . although there wasn’t really enough to go around! They also had a rather unusual choice for their first dance record, Iceland’s 2013 Eurovision entry . . . Ég á Líf by Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson.
Here’s a few images from their big day . . .
