A couple of weeks ago I had the great pleasure of photographing Claire and Tom’s wedding. It’s the first wedding I’ve covered where I could have actually got by without my car as it all took place in Harborne and Edgbaston where I live.
I met up with the Claire and her family early in the morning to photograph the bridal preparations. I’ve got to say that it was one of the most relaxed wedding mornings I’ve ever experienced. There was no fluster and panic but plenty of tea and cupcakes; we even had a live piano accompaniment for part of the morning.
The wedding ceremony took place at St John’s Church right in the middle of Harborne with the reception just down the road at Birmingham Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston.
Claire looked stunning in her Phil Collins (not that one) dress which was from The Dressing Rooms, Halesowen, whilst Tom and the groomsmen wore suits from Peter Posh. The sponge and fruit wedding cake was lovingly made by Claire’s housemates and the flowers were provided by Diane Lawson also of Harborne. After the wedding breakfast and speeches had been finished the sounds of the Malarky Band, who provided a Céilidh, kept the dance floor packed until closing with a mix of traditional folk songs.
Here’s a few pictures from Claire and Tom’s special day . . .
