My regular second shooter and all round good egg, Jo is is taking on a challenge in order to raise some money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Jo and her running partner, James, will be completing four half marathons on four consecutive Sundays. They started their challenge in fancy dress last Sunday (28th September) in Nottingham at the Robin Hood Half Marathon. This coming Sunday they will be pounding the streets of the Welsh capital for the Cardiff Half Marathon. The Sunday after that they will be down in Oxfordshire for the Henley on Thames Half Marathon before finishing their challenge at the Bupa Great Birmingham Run on the 19th October. Having run half marathons myself (not on consecutive weekends!) I know how hard this challenge will be.

Their motivation for this is provided by their friend, 13 year old Jaye Camacho, who is currently receiving treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Jaye and his family receive a great deal of support from the Teenage Cancer Trust and so Jo and James are looking to help by raising awareness and some money for the work that the TCT do.

If you can spare a few pounds sponsorship for Jo and James’ quadruple half marathon challenge then I’m sure it will provide them with some additional motiviation for when the going gets tough. Your donations will enable the Teenage Cancer Trust to continue the fantastic work that they do and to help many more young people like Jaye. Their local paper, The Lichfield Mercury have also done a little story on their challenge which can be read at the following link -> Marathon challenge inspired by Lichfield teenager Jaye
