A few weeks ago I made my second visit to Dodford Manor, this time to photograph Jen and Andy’s wonderful wedding.
Dodford Manor is a lovely venue, a series of interlinked 17th century stone and oak barns, set in the rural Northamptonshire countryside. The barns are wonderful old buildings that have been beautifully restored with some lovely contemporary touches. The ceremony took place in the Mortain Barn, which was built in the 1680’s, before heading into the Oak Barn for the wedding breakfast. Jen and Andy chose to have a host a roast event for their wedding breakfast, which involved each table being served with its own fillet of beef for the nominated “chef” to carve.
Jen’s stunning lace dress was provided by Courtyard Bridal Boutique of Kettering and her hair and make-up by the lovely Dee Wilkes. Flowers were by Julie-Anna Flowers of Northampton. I’d also like to give a mention to the close-up magician Joey Baillon who melted people’s minds with his brilliant card tricks after the wedding breakfast.
Given how wet the weather has been in the UK this year we were incredibly lucky to have unbroken sunshine for the whole day. In the weeks leading up to the big day I was envisaging having to wear a sou’wester rather than a sun hat . . . or as it turned out, a bright pink cowboy hat (there are photos somewhere!).
Anyone that knows me is probably aware of my love of spreadsheets. Jen was definitely a kindred spirit with the whole day planned out military style with the aid of Microsoft Excel. I wish Jen and Andy all the best for their future together, here’s a few images from their big day . . .
