Jodie & Liam recently married at The Venue at the wonderful Moddershall Oaks, near Stone in Staffordshire. Their wedding was a beautiful day spent with friends and family; and despite continual rain for the three days leading up to their big day it somehow managed to stay dry. Jodie looked absolutely stunning in her lace detailed dress from Sashes Bridal Boutique in Codsal whilst Liam and the groomsmen were dressed in sharp suits from Dapper Dan’s in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton.
I’d not been to Moddershall Oaks before but think that it’s a great venue. It’s set in 72 acres of woodland fronting onto a picturesque lake. The Venue opened at the end of 2010 and is a function suite attached to Moddershall Oaks Luxury Spa. The building has some really great touches such as integrated plasma screens, ideal for the best mans speech, which these days is usually accompanied by a power point slideshow featuring embarrassing photos. It also has configurable lighting that can be made to match the colour theme of your wedding and moveable walls so that the venue space can be adapted to suit the number of guests. And to top it all off the staff there were absolutely fantastic.
Jodie and Liam added some great personal touches to their big day, my favourite being a sweet table for the children. Although it seemed like the kids weren’t able to get much of a look in due the adults that were hanging around!
I had a great time shooting Jodie and Liam’s wedding and was given a big reminder of my own wedding day as they had the same first dance that my wife and I danced to on our wedding day – Al Green’s Lets Stay Together. Once the first dance was completed the band Untitled States (who were brilliant) hit the stage and entertained the guests until midnight.
I’d also like to say a big thank you to Jo from Jo Grumett Photography who was my second shooter for the day.
