At the start of October I had an amazing day photographing a wedding very close to my Harborne home when I was at Birmingham Botanical Gardens for Amie and Jack’s wonderful wedding.
The wedding day for the girls started early at the Marriott Five Ways Hotel in Birmingham City Centre. When I arrived it was a flurry of activity with Sarah Russell busy on hair and makeup duties as Amie was busy pouring the rosé! It was a lively morning with plenty of fun and laughter and a little bit of synchronised dancing too. As the ceremony drew closer Amy put on her stunning white Ronald Joyce wedding dress, which was from Rebecca Jaynes at Mix ‘n’ Match of Rugeley, whilst her bridesmaids donned their matching dresses from Dorothy Perkins. Once everyone was ready they then headed downstairs to hop into their stunning VW camper vans, which were from Nothing but Wedding Cars, and made their way across Birmingham City Centre to the leafy suburb of Edgbaston and onto Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
Meanwhile Jack was waiting patiently in the Terrace Room at the Botanical Gardens and looking very suave in his three piece Duncan James suit. As the clock hit 2pm the gathered friends and family rose to their feet to welcome the bridal party into the room. The ceremony was a lovely affair which saw the traditional exchanging of rings before the signing of the register. With the legal formalities completed everyone then headed outside onto the terrace to join the peacocks of Birmingham Botanical Gardens in welcoming the new Mr & Mrs Butler-Byrne to a drinks reception held in some wonderful autumnal sunshine. With the drinks quaffed and the group shots completed it was then back inside into the Terrace Suite for the speeches, which were then followed by a stunning three course wedding breakfast.
For the evening reception my favourite wedding DJ’s, The Best Men, kept the dancefloor rocking with a mix of 60 soul, 70’s glam, 80’s rock and a whole load of air guitar inducing 90’s indie. It was great to catch up with them again after I saw last saw them at Alex and Dan’s wedding at The Bond Company in September. If you want something a little different and an evening of cheese free music for your wedding reception then The Best Men are the guys to call.
Before I sign off I just want to say a massive thanks to Amie and Jack for having me along to do their Birmingham Botanical Gardens wedding photography. It was a massive pleasure to have been part of such a fun and relaxed wedding day. Here’s a few photos from their wonderful wedding . . .
