For my second wedding of 2023 I had the huge pleasure to capture Zoe and Kurran’s epic two day celebration which took place at the end of February. For day one we had a Christian service to reflect the bride’s background and for day two a Hindu ceremony to reflect the heritage of the groom. This offered their guests an opportunity to experience the rich cultural diversity and traditions of both religions, and celebrate the union of two individuals in a truely memorable way.

On the morning of the first day’s calibrations I met with Zoe and the rest of the bridal party at her parents house. It was a hive of activity with Zoe’s makeup being done by her sister-in-law, who is a makeup artist from New York, and her hair by a family friend Dani. Meanwhile the bridesmaids were having their makeup done by Kate Leanne and hair by Alice Olivia Hair. Over at Bordesley Park Kurran and his groomsmen were readying themselves for the day ahead by sinking a few pool balls, and a few beers too, whilst they donned their super sharp blue three piece suits.

The ceremony took place at St. Patrick’s Church in Earlswood. Zoe, wearing her stunning Wed2B wedding dress, was accompanied down the aisle by her dad before meeting her husband to be at the front of the church. The ceremony, held in front of Zoe and Kurran’s families and closest friends, was conducted by the Reverend Denise. We had songs, readings, a few tears and lots of love on display. With register signed and the legal formalities completed the wedding party then made their way over to Bordesley Park for the reception.

Upon arrival at the venue the newly married couple were showered with confetti before heading down the garden to the reception marquee. After taking a few minutes for some group shots and bridal portraits it was then time for the wedding breakfast, which was provided by the kitchen maestros from Celebration Caterers. This was followed by the speeches, where the guests were thoroughly entertained not only by the speakers and their anecdotes, but also by witnessing the groom’s moon walk and belly roll!!!

For the evening reception the band Truly Medley Deeply kept the dancefloor rocking all night with two sets of live bangers which had everyone throwing shapes until the small hours. Although everyone made sure to leave some energy in the tank for day two!

Before I sign off I must say a massive thanks to Zoe and Kurran for having me along to photograph day one of their stunning wedding at St Patrick’s Church and Bordesley Park (you can see the second day on the following link -> Day Two). I also need to say a massive thanks to Chris from Chris Bunce Photography who joined me for the occasion as second photographer and to Craig from Gingerbread Productions who did a sterling job on the videography. Here’s 50 photos to give you the feels from day one of Zoe and Kurran’s special celebration . . .
