Today’s blog post features the wonderful wedding of Hannah and Chris which was held at the delightful Dovecote Barn, at Bo Peep Farm on the edge of the Cotswolds. It was my second time photographing a Dovecote Barn wedding and it was great pleasure to be back at this beautiful Oxfordshire family-run venue.

I met with Hannah and the bridal party at her parent’s house near Bicester early on the morning of the wedding. It’s not every wedding where you’re greeted by the father of the bride brandishing drill whilst covered in fleshy residue! However; Hannah’s dad, Dave, was busy making the final preparations to some pumpkins which were being used as seasonal decorations for this awesome autumnal wedding. It was a flurry of activity . . . and I’m not just talking about Dave and his drill. Jodie from Jodie Elleanor Makeup was busy getting the girls ready as the excitement built and the prosecco flowed. As the ceremony time approached Hannah eased into her stunning wedding dress, which was from Catherine Dean, before heading off across the Oxfordshire countryside to the venue.

Meanwhile; Chris and his groomsmen, along with the other wedding guests, eagerly awaited the arrival of the bridal party at Dovecote Barn. The ceremony was a wonderful affair held in front the the bride and groom’s closest friends and family. Once the rings were exchanged and the legal formalities completed everyone then headed outside into the dazzling autumnal sunshine to shower the newly married couple with confetti. With the drinks reception well underway I whisked the happy couple off into the nearby fields for a few quick bridal portraits before heading back to the wedding party. I must point out how amazing Hannah’s bridal bouquet looked. Willow & Rose Florals did a stunning job, perfectly matching the flowers and colours to the autumnal feel of the wedding day.

For the wedding breakfast the guests were treated to a stunning three course meal before the speeches took place. Then with the sun setting everyone gathered for the cutting of the wedding cake, curtesy of Oxford Vegan Cakes, before the first dance took place back in the main barn. The dancefloor was then opened up where DJ Terry from Smooth Move Events kept everyone on their feet and throwing shapes into the small hours. Terry was later joined by vocalist Sophie and saxophonist Abi, Miss Saxobeat, for a storming live accompaniment which wowed the wedding guests.

Before I sign off I must say a massive thank you to Hannah and Chris for having me along to photograph their Dovecote Barn wedding. It was a huge pleasure to have been involved in such a lovely wedding day surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family. Here’s 50 photos to give you a look at this spectacular Oxfordshire wedding . . .
