The second half of 2021 was so crazy that I only had time to blog one wedding, Emma and Lawrence’s dazzling day at The Orangery Ingestre. To make amends for that I’ll be posting some of my 2021 weddings in amongst this year’s, starting with Sarah and Jay’s super stylish wedding at Foxtail Barns in Staffordshire. This was a wedding that really did have it all; a beautiful bride, a dashing groom, two amazing families, a lot of crazy friends, plus for good measure, it was held in a stunning venue which had been exquisitely styled by White Fern Weddings.
On the morning of the wedding I arrived for bridal prep at the venue to be greeted by my Birmingham hair and makeup dream team of Nicola Honey Artistry and Makeup By Harper. I Knew right away that this was going to be an amazing day. Whilst Sarah and the girls were being readied in their private dressing room, Jay and his groomsmen were meeting and greeting the guests as they arrived.
No wedding ever runs without the odd unplanned hiccup. Thankfully the amazing staff at Foxtail Barns and the ladies from White Fern Weddings stepped in and helped, with the aid of a pair of scissors, to reduce the length of one of the bridesmaids dresses when it was found at the last minute to be a couple of inches too long. There’s nothing like a bit of last minute bit of emergency tailoring to get your pulses going on a wedding day.
For the ceremony, which took place in the orangery, Sarah wore a stunning Pronovias wedding dress which was from Tilly Trotter’s Brides of Leamington Spa. She was accompanied by her 6 bridesmaids who wore matching full length burgundy dresses from TFNC London. Meanwhile Jay and his groomsmen looked super sharp in their dark blue three piece suits which were from TDR Menswear of Birmingham.
With the legal formalities completed the wedding party then headed out into the courtyard for a drinks reception and canapes. We also made a little escape into the neighbouring grounds of The Tawny Hotel / nature reserve for some bridal portraits before heading back in for the wedding breakfast.
For the evening reception the dancefloor was rocking all evening thanks to the brilliant Apollo Soul, who kept everyone on their feet with an infectious mix of soul, funk and chart hits. Shapes were thrown, and maybe the odd drink too!
Before I sign off I must say a huge thanks to Sarah and Jay for having me along to photograph their amazing wedding. Here’s 50 images to give you a feel of their epic day at Foxtail Barns . . .
