For today’s blog post were jumping back to the summer of 2022 when I was down in Oxfordshire being a Hadsham Farm Wedding Photographer for Sophie and Mike’s terrific tipi wedding. It was my first time at Hadsham Farm, a fantastic family run wedding venue which is centred around a beautiful lakeside tipi in a secluded Cotswold valley. It’s definitely one of the more unique wedding venues I’ve been lucky enough photograph at.
I met with Sophie and her bridesmaids for the bridal preparations at The Castle at Edgehill, a hotel perched on the summit of Edgehill near Banbury. The hotel gives some magnificent views over the rolling fields below, which were the location of the famous English Civil War Battle in 1642. It was a flurry of activity in Sophie’s room high up in the castle tower. Frankie from Frankie Rose Bridal Hair and Makeup was busy with the brushes whist the bridesmaids made sure the bucks fizz kept flowing. As the time for the ceremony approached Sophie eased into her stunning Coco and Kate wedding dress, which was from Made with Love bridal, whilst her bridesmaids wore slinky silver dresses, which were from Pretty Lavish.
Meanwhile; over at Hadsham Farm, Mike waited patiently for his bride. He looked incredibly dapper in his sharp three piece suit which was from Suit Supply. The ceremony was a wonderful affair held outside in front of the bride and groom’s closest friends and family, overlooking the Hadsham Farm lake. Their wedding arch, which had been decorated by Superflowers, looked absolutely stunning with its two magnificent floral sprays. With the vows completed and rings exchanged the newlyweds made their exit from the lakeside ceremony and were then showered by their guests with confetti as they returned to the tipi.
For the drinks reception everyone made their way back to the lakeside terrace. The garden games were also broken out as the wedding party enjoyed a selection of beverages being served from the Twisted Trailers super cool vintage horsebox bar. We had giant Connect 4 as well as some incredibly competitive space hopper racing! Then it was time to head into the tipi for the wedding breakfast curtesy of Seven Mile Catering. Whilst I’m talking about food I must also quickly mention the amazing wedding cake which was made by the happy couples’ good friend, Ivan Markovic, from ivanscakes. Make sure to check out the pictures below to see Ivan’s fairy-tale cake creation, featuring internal lighting and edible stained glass windows.
For the evening reception, the incredible indie band The Nightliners kept the dancefloor of the tipi rocking until the early hours. They smashed out two sets of indie, rock and pop classics which had everyone on their feet, throwing shapes and thrashing air guitars. We even had some breakdancing and limbo thrown in for good measure too!
Before I sign off I must say a huge thank you to Sophie and Mike for having me along as their Hadsham Farm wedding photographer. It was a real pleasure to have been part of such an amazing and super fun wedding. Here’s 50 photos to give you a look at their special day . . .
