Two weeks ago I made the short drive from Birmingham down to the Cotswolds for Refa and Gareth’s wonderful wedding at the stunning Matara Centre at Kingscote Park near Tetbury. I met with Refa and her family at the Matara Centre on the morning of the wedding, bridal preparations were in full swing with makeup by Jo Maria Lidenwall. It was a flurry of activity with everyone getting themselves and the venue ready for the day ahead.

The Matara Centre is a truly stunning location for a wedding. It consists of a grade II listed Regency period house set in 28 acres of grounds that makes up Kingscote Park. Within the park are a myriad for formal gardens, woodland paths and lakes which make for an ideal setting for wedding photos. Adjoining the house is the spectacular Balinese styled water temple where the wedding ceremony takes place, it really is a beautiful and unique spot.

For the ceremony Refa wore a stunning Sulakshana Monga dress which was from Soltee in Birmingham, whilst her three young bridesmaids wore pink dresses from Monsoon. Gareth wore a sharp three piece Hugo Boss suit with a pink tie and handkerchief which matched with Refa’s beautiful dress. With the formalities completed everyone headed out into the courtyard for a drinks reception which also featured lots of tasty treats from the Indian subcontinent. The Indian food theme was carried through to the wedding breakfast where a stunning array of dishes were prepared by Chana Catering Services.

One of the more unique features of having your wedding at the Matara Centre is that every couple who tie the knot there gets to plant a tree in the grounds which is dedicated to them. With the tree planting completed everyone headed back inside for the tradition of the first dance. The Birmingham Crew DJs then got the dancefloor jamming with a mix of tunes which also featured a live dhol drummer to add to the party atmosphere. Here’s a few pictures from Refa and Gareth’s wonderful wedding . . .
