Stone Barn Wedding Photographer – Kelly and Steve

Just before Christmas, on the day of the winter solstice, I was back in the Cotswolds to photograph Kelly and Steve’s wonderful winter wedding at the stunning Cripps Stone Barn at Upper Windrush near Cheltenham. The Stone Barn is a venue that I’ve shot at before and has tons of character. With its corrugated iron roofed Dutch barn and massive open BBQ kitchen it’s probably one of the more unique locations for a wedding in the UK.

I met with Kelly and her bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel. Bridal preparations were in full swing with make-up being done by Brooke Savannah Stephens and hair by Joe Tse. Whilst the girls were readying themselves in their suite, the boys were making the most of the hotel bar for their final preparations before heading for The Stone Barn.

For the ceremony, which took place at the Stone Barn, Kelly wore a stunning white lace Maggie Sottero dress which was from Serendipity Brides whilst her bridesmaids wore matching pink dresses which were from Mix Bridal. Steve and his groomsmen were decked out in sharp blue suits from Fogarty Formal Hire. With the legal formalities completed everyone then headed out for the drinks reception where they were entertained by swing singer Mickey Fordola.

As the afternoon moved on and the last of the winter solstice sun began to set, the guests headed into the Dutch barn and were served a stunning 3 course wedding breakfast from the BBQ kitchen. With dessert finished Mickey Fordola then got back onto the mic and belted out a string of swing classics which got the whole dining room singing and dancing along to the music. The action then moved back into the main Stone Barn where the amazing Tru Groove got the whole barn jumping to the small hours with a mix of funk, soul and Motown hits.
