For my last outing before the coronavirus / COVID-19 shutdown I was back at the brilliant Blackwell Grange for Hayley and Jeremy’s wonderful spring wedding, the Cotswolds venue is one that I know well and love to shoot at.
I met with Hayley and her bridesmaids in the Potting Shed at Blackwell Grange on the morning of the wedding with the sun shining and, thankfully, no sign of the gales that had blasted February’s weddings. Bridal make up was being done by Alexandra Sinclair as the girls enjoyed the atmosphere and buildup of the morning. With the ceremony time approaching Hayley eased into her stunning Stella York wedding dress, which was from Taffeta and Lace of Gloucester, whilst her bridesmaids wore Maya dresses from Next.
Over in the Thatch Barn Jeremy was looking very dapper in his blue three piece suit, which was from Debonair Formal Hire of Cheltenham, as he waited for the arrival of his beautiful bride. Hayley, carrying her stunning bouquet from Fiorella Florals, was escorted down the aisle by her brother as she made her final walk before being married in front of her family and closest friends.
The wedding ceremony was a wonderful affair with lots of love on display, a few tears and plenty of laughter too. With the legal formalities completed everyone then made their way outside into the spring sunshine to shower the newly married couple with confetti before making their way over to the Orchard Barn for the drinks reception. With the drinks quaffed it was then time for the amazing three course wedding breakfast which was provided by the kitchen wizards at Galloping Gourmet. This was followed by the speeches before Hayley, Jeremy and I hit the gardens at Blackwell Grange to make the most of the wonderful soft evening light as the sun set. For the evening reception the Orchard Barn was kept rocking by the DJ from Major Entertainment as gourmet pizzas were served from the outdoor pizza oven.
Before I sign off I’d like to say a massive thank you to Hayley and Jeremy for having me along to photograph their amazing wedding day at Blackwell Grange. It was a real pleasure to have been involved in such a fun filled and joyous occasion. I’m not sure when the coronavirus / COVID-19 situation will be over, life will return to normal and weddings can start again. What I do know is that I absolutely love this job and am gutted for all the couples that have been effected by the shutdown. However; there are bigger issues at stake so we must all take this on the chin, stay home and stay safe. On lighter note, see if you can spot an early arrival from the moon during the wedding breakfast . . .
