Last September I made my way back down to the Cotswolds for Kat and Matt’s stunning summer Blackwell Grange Wedding. Blackwell Grange is an amazing wedding venue which I know really well as I’m fortunate enough to get to shoot there on a fairly regular basis. The venue is set in the picturesque Cotswolds countryside, just outside Shipston-on-Stour, and provides the perfect backdrop for any wedding day.

I met with Kat on the morning of the wedding in The Potting Shed, Blackwell Grange‘s very own bridal preparation room. It was a flurry of activity as makeup was applied, hair teased and the odd glass of fizz consumed! Whilst the girls were readying themselves Matt and his groomsmen were making the final preparation to the venue before donning their super cool tweed three piece suits which were from Moss Bros. The classic cut and country styled suits were the perfect match to the rustic and elegant atmosphere of Blackwell Grange.

As the ceremony drew closer Kat eased into her stunning wedding dress which was from Pure Couture. The dress was the perfect combination of elegance and grace, with intricate detailing and a style that suited her perfectly. The ceremony itself took place in front of their friends and family in the 16th century, oak beamed, Thatched Barn. Kat was walked down the aisle by her very proud father before exchanging vows and rings with Matt. With the legal formalities completed everyone made their way outside to shower the newly married couple with confetti before starting the drinks reception.

The drinks reception featured a unique and fun element in the shape of some garden games and also a 9 hole crazy golf course, which was provided by 9 Hole Event Hire. The couple and their guests were able to enjoy a cheeky round of crazy golf whilst tucking to the canapes and quaffing their drinks. It certainly added a sporty and playful touch to the celebration and made for a truly memorable experience for everyone involved.

It was then time for the wedding breakfast, comprising of a stunning three course dinner, followed by the speeches. For the evening reception entertainment was provided by The Ceilidh Tree wedding band who provided lively evening of music and dance. Ceilidh is a traditional Scottish / Irish dance, which is known for its energetic and joyful nature. It was a perfect choice for the reception, adding a fun atmosphere to the celebration. The band ensured everyone had an amazing time dancing and the dance floor was never empty, with shapes being thrown into the small hours.

Before I sign off I must say a huge thanks to Kat and Matt for having me along to photograph their Blackwell Grange wedding. It was a truly magical and memorable day for all involved. The setting, food, and company were all top-notch, making it an unforgettable celebration. I must also say a massive thanks too to the wonderful Emma from Photography by Emma Jane who did a sterling job assisting me on the day. Here’s 50 photos to give you a sneak peek into Kat and Matt’s wonderful wedding day . . .
