A couple of weekends ago I made the short journey from Birmingham to Leicestershire for Loretta and Anthony’s winter wedding, which was held at St James Church in Newbold Verdon and Bosworth Hall in Market Bosworth.
I met with Loretta and her family at her home on the morning of the wedding just as the rain started to turn to snow, giving a real winter feel to the day. It was a flurry of activity inside with the girl’s hair being done by Sue and makeup was by Fleeked ByElease. For the ceremony Loretta wore a stunning white wedding dress which was from Dress 2 impress U of Leicester, whilst the bridesmaids wore pink dresses from Brides of Bond Street.
With the preparations completed Loretta made the short hop to the grade II, Norman era, St James Church in a beautiful vintage Jaguar MkII which was provided by Cols Classic Cars. After being walked down the aisle by her incredibly proud father, Dean, she was then met at the altar by Anthony. The ceremony was a wonderful celebration, which as well as having traditional hymns, also featured contemporary music which was provided by Darren Jones who accompanied the proceedings with some wonderful vocals and guitar playing. At the end of the ceremony the church bells rang out and a few hardy souls braved the arctic conditions to throw confetti at the happy couple before they made their way to Bosworth Hall in the wonderful white Mk2 Jag.
Bosworth Hall, now run by Britannia Hotels as Bosworth Hall Hotel and Spa, is the former ancestral home of the Dixie family who had strong connections to the Market Bosworth area. The building, which dates from 1680 is set in 11 acres of parkland and provides a stunning backdrop for weddings. As the guests arrived for the drinks reception saxophonist Rob Charles provided a jazz influenced musical backdrop. Thankfully the snow eased and we were able to head outside for some group shots and bridal portraits before the stunning three course wedding breakfast was served. For the evening reception Hi Tech Sounds kept the dancefloor moving with a varied mix of music from across the decades. Here’s a few photos from Loretta and Anthony’s big day . . .
